this is off topic, but it’s fun. i warn you, this time, follow the stewardess request.
This is a boeing 787 on a recent test flight. on test flights, they do things to test how the plane would preform in unreal situations. don’t believe me? see for yourself.
boeing has a long history of “demoing” their planes. in 1955 tex johnson, an early boeing test pilot, flew a prototype 707 over seattle’s seafar event. tex did a barrel roll in front of th crowd and they were in awe. the planes was engineered to handle such stress and more, so there really wasn’t any danger. tex had planned to do it, but did tell the bigwigs.
the next morning he got call into the president of boeing’s office, bill allen, the president, asked about the maneuver. tex, told him it was perfectly safe. bill said,” never ever evevr ever do that again.” different accounts of the story have different counts of the number of evers that where in the quote.
Very cool!
