reflections off the water

selfies, selfies everywhere and not drop of rational thought

irn our last episode about selfies, we learned of young british women who waste, i mean spend 5 hours a week planning and taking selfies. (i think i let my personal opinion on selfies slip through.)

who could believe that it could get worse? but it does.

imagea young women decided to take a selfie while she held a gun to her head. one small problem; she pulled the wrong trigger and seriously wounded herself.

and just so you don’t think i’m only picking on one sex, some man beat her to the punch, with even worse consequences. a man in mexico performed a similar act. unfortunately, this incidence turn out to be fatal.

note to all: it’s probably not a good idea to point a loaded gun at your head, ever for the expressed purpose of taking a selfie.

and just to finish it off and cool it down a bit…

a young fan at the french open, a grand slam tennis tournament, meaning one of the four biggest tennis tournies of the year, ran out on the court between sets and tried to take a selfie with rodger federer, the number men’s player in the world. federer reluctantly posed with the selfie-er( yea I made a word up. so sue me). the selfie-er was later detained and federer expressed his disdain for the situation.

note to all: it’s probably not a good idea to run out on the court of one of the largest tennis events in the world just to take a selfie with the number one tennis player in the world. please make a note of it.

it sounds like the title of this blog post was inspired by The rhyme

of the ancient Mariner by Samuel-taylor Coleridge.

That’s bonkers! Lol I actually saw Federer play close up years ago, way before he was #1, on a side court at the US Open here in NY.
